8-Way Dozer Blade

This hydraulically operated 8-way or 6-way dozer blade can be calibrated to operate with a 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional control unit.

It can be installed on varying brands of skid steer equipment with varying brands of control equipment used.

This blade excels in both manual and automated operations.  With this blade you can operate with the same general controls as a dozer only in tighter spaces with easier mobility.  The skidsteer allows for quicker more agile motion with the benefit of less ground disturbance due to the rubber tracks.

This ripper is designed to be installed on a machine to operate with the currently installed motion controls and operated in the same manner you would a conventional dozer.

More about this Blade:

Octagon Equipment’s 8 Way Dozer Blade has been designed to provide exceptional grading quality in both manual and automated grading modes.  Unlike other similarly marketed attachments, there are no bulky arms or wheels, this blade has a forward roll function to allow 8 full directions of movement, and, among other advantages, manual grading is made easy due to the proprietary rear cutting edge.  The idea for this blade came about in the field while GC’ing a solid waste disposal facility with many layers of bedding required.  Nothing on the market at the time seemed to be the right tool for the job.  Because of its enhanced design, this blade is truly revolutionizing the grading industry with its patent pending technologies!

When using this 8-way dozer blade in manual or automated grading mode, this blade’s design allows it to cut compacted material.  Using the roll function to tilt this blade forward will allow significant down pressure for this compact tracked loader’s size.  In 3-dimensional automation this blade will hold the forward roll function in a dynamic but stable position to maximize cutting performance while grading to the required tight tolerances of a 3-D surface.

The patent pending rear cutting edge on this blade allows for manual grading with ease.  The fully rolled back position of the 8-way dozer blade employs the rear cutting edge approximately 1/4” lower than the front cutting edge to mimic using a bucket machine in back drag mode.  By using the roll forward function to cut and the roll back function to fill instead of the boom up and boom down, the back edge almost eliminates the dive of a traditional blades and allows it float across the surface.

This blade has been designed to convert compact track loader controls to the controls of a conventional dozer.  Most knowledgeable operators should feel comfortable almost immediately with the control of this blade.

When the position of the blade is set to grading mode and 2 or 3-dimensional machine control is used, it can create a finished surface that is unmatched by the competition.  This blade reacts immediately when your surface changes from cut to fill to ensure target grade is maintained and tolerances are achieved.

A 40-degree left or right angle of windrow is achieved despite the compact nature of the blade and does not interfere with the movement of the track.  This increased angle allows the operator to wind row most material completely to one side of the blade.

The different removable side wings can be quickly added or removed as needed to achieve box blade style operation.

This blade can operate immediately adjacent to curbs, buildings, fences or other obstacles in both forward and reverse directions using either manual or automated control.

Optional rear scarifiers, are minimal in bulk and do not hinder the rearward movement of the blade.  This attachment is operated hydraulically with in-cab controls.  Differing teeth and depth of scarify can be easily changed to accommodate multiple depths and soil types.  Several removable teeth design options are available to ensure a broad spectrum of use.

Our equipment can be customized to fit different machines and different brands of automated control.  Call us today to see how we can help you grade more accurately and efficiently and do more with your equipment!
